SCCM 2012 R2 – clients showing inactive

Last days I noticed that ALL clients are showing inactive at the System Center Configuration Manager R2 Console. After doing some research I end up to this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2796086
This article is related to System Center Configuration Manager 2012 RTM and it says that the SP1 will solve the issue. But I have SCCM 2012 R2 and still having this problem. Hopefully the second part of the Resolution paragraph solved my issue instantly.

The resolution is to recreate the Management Point role:

  1. Under Servers and Site System Roles, select the server that is hosting the failing management point.
  2. Right-click the Management Point role, and then select Remove Role.
  3. Monitor the MPSetup.log on the Management Point server to make sure that the removal is complete.
  4. Right-click the same server, and then select Add Site System Roles.
  5. In the wizard, select the Management Point role, and then monitor the MPSetup.log on the Management Point server to make sure that the reinstallation is complete.
